WELCOME TO APFB08

logoapfb08nsmall2.jpgINTRODUCTION

Few-body physics continues to give important contributions to understand wide range phenomena in physics and chemistry. Recent developments in theoretical and computational techniques have stimulated new important findings in this field. On the experimental side, with the recent advances in accelerator and detector technologies it is now possible to measure the many observables with unprecedented accuracy, at certain kinematics inaccessible previously. This situation certainly needs a forum in which the theoretical predictions and experimental measurements can be presented, discussed, and criticized in order to better understand the interaction between particles at least on hadronic level. The Asia-Pacific Conference on Few-Body Problems in Physics (APFB) provides one of the excellent forum for this.

Following the success of the first of this conference series, APFB99, in Tokyo in 1999, the second in Shanghai in 2002, and the third in Thailand in 2005, the fourth conference, APFB08, will be held in Depok, Indonesia, from August 19 to August 23. 2008. The conference is expected to provide distinguished experts and students from various research fields in Asia-Pacific as well as from other continents the opportunities to present their works and to enhance contacts among them.

PARTICIPANTS

Physicists and physics students from Asia-Pacific region as well as from other parts of the world are kindly invited to participate in this conference. Around 150 participants are expected.

VENUE

The conference will be held at the campus of the Universitas Indonesia, Depok, Indonesia.

DATE

The conference will begin on Tuesday 19 August, 2008 with the opening ceremony in the morning and conclude on Saturday 23 August, 2008.
